"Budget Perspectives" Conference

Venue: The ESRI, Whitaker Square, Sir John Rogerson's Quay, Dublin 2

Date: 27/09/2012
Time: 8.30 am - 1 pm

The Budget Perspectives Conference has become an established part of public debate about budgetary issues in Ireland. The 15th Conference will examine issues of interest from both macroeconomic and microeconomic standpoints.

Macroeconomic analyses will include the macroeconomic context for Budget 2013 and medium-term issues for fiscal policy. Microeconomic analysis of work incentive issues will update and extend research presented at last year’s conference, and place it in an international context. This year’s guest speaker is Professor Mike Brewer, who will analyse the UK government’s proposals for a “Universal Credit” designed to gain the advantages of a more integrated and transparent benefit system.
