Accessing HIPE Data

Online Data Reporter

The online data reporter allows users access to 2000-2010 HIPE data. Users can generate reports for each year on diagnoses or procedures using a predefined diagnosis and procedure list. Further selection criteria include age, sex and health board/region of residence. This facility also provides a number of quick reports that provide aggregated data for the years 2000-2009, for example Diagnosis Related Group (DRG).


HIPE Reports

HIPE reports cover hospital activity from 1990 to 2010. These reports provide an analysis of acute hospital activity by analysing the morbidity, demographic and Case Mix data collected by the HIPE scheme. HIPE reports can be downloaded in full or by section, please see our reports section.


Data Requests

Aggregate national statistics, without identification of patient, hospital or consultant are available directly from the HIPE Unit at the ESRI.
