Introduction

The Health Research and Information Division (HRID) develop and maintain a number of software products for the collection and analysis of HIPE and NPRS data.

HIPE Portal

The HIPE Portal is a web-based application designed and developed by the HRID. This software is in use in all acute public hospitals in Ireland and its main  functions are;

  • Collection of HIPE data.
  • Reporting on HIPE data.
  • Import and export of HIPE data from/to the HIS/PAS system.

This web application can be accessed throughout the hospital using a web browser and will facilitate additional uses of HIPE data by hospital management and clinicans.

The HIPE Portal uses modern database technology to ensure that HIPE data are stored in a safe and secure environment, either within the hospital environment or on the wider HSE network.

The HIPE Portal interface allows  the HIPE coder to access all HIPE modules in one place.
