This Lecture was jointly organised by the ESRI and the Institute for International Integration Studies (IIIS), TCD. The presentation is available to download below. The presentation starts by outlining some of the dimensions of Globalization relevant for Global growth. It then highlights the growth acceleration in countries that took advantage of globalization to accelerate growth. It highlights some of the commonalities and differences in the growth strategies adopted by successful countries. It explores the impact of this faster growth on per capita income convergence and on the structure of the World Economy. It concludes by analyzing the effect of the global financial crisis on the global economy and explores how the growth strategies will need to adapt. |
