Green VAT Reform

The energy and climate teams have secured funding from the Environmental Protection Agency to investigate the impacts of introducing a green VAT schedule in Ireland, where VAT rates will reflect the carbon embedded in the production and consumption of different commodities. This project will combine micro-econometric modelling and macro economic-modelling (I3E model).  This work will help advise policy concerning reducing Ireland's consumption emissions generated domestically and elsewhere on the globe.
