Caregiving among young adults in Ireland
This event will launch a new ESRI report by Helen Russell and Emer Smyth titled Caregiving among young adults in Ireland.
The research is based on the Growing Up in Ireland ’98 Cohort and examines the extent of caregiving provided by young people to their siblings, parents and others. It examines how care provision varies in intensity and duration and the implications for young people’s wellbeing and post-school transitions.
The report authors will present their findings. Conor Byrne (Leinster Young Carer of the Year, 2023) will then share his experience being a young adult caregiver.
