Employment Opportunities for Young People
On Thursday, 11 May, the ESRI will host an Open Event for a collaborative European project that researchers within the Institute are involved in titled Cowork4YOUTH.
This project focuses on young people not in employment, education or training (NEETs), specifically those aged 15-29.
Cowork4YOUTH aims to increase knowledge on the impact of existing policies on youth employment and also to offer policy suggestions to increase youth employment opportunities. In particular, the project centres on Greece, Italy, Spain and Ireland, some of which suffer from relatively high ‘NEETs’ rates.
The event will include presentations by academics working in this area, organisations working with youths on issues related to employment/unemployment, and a panel consisting of individuals from relevant government departments and state agencies addressing youth employment matters.
The Cowork4YOUTH project is funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment. Further information about the project can be found here.
In line with Cowork4YOUTH’s synergy policy, aiming to promote exchange of knowledge and good practices, some of the organisations working with youths that will present at the Open Event are from other projects funded by the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment.
