Golf in Ireland

A new report evaluating participation in golf in Ireland is to be unveiled at a launch event on Monday 22nd May 2017.
The report, entitled ‘Golf in Ireland: A Statistical Analysis of Participation’ was commissioned by the CGI. The research was conducted by Dr. Pete Lunn, Senior Research Officer at the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI), and Dr. Eilish Kelly.
The findings of this report include details on how golf contributes to public health and wellbeing, potential reasons for recent decreases in participation, as well as policy implications including actions that will make golf more appealing to younger adults.
