Launch of Growing Up in Ireland Report – Development from Birth to Three Years

Growing Up in Ireland will be launching it's latest report - Development from Birth to Three Years by James Williams, Aisling Murray, Cathal McCrory and Sinéad McNally on Friday 20th September at 11am.

The report will be launched by Ms. Frances Fitzgerald T.D., Minister for Children and Youth Affairs.

This report presents a descriptive analysis of the findings from the second round of data collection with the Infant Cohort of Growing Up in Ireland, when the children were three years old. It provides a comprehensive picture of three-year-olds in Ireland today and describes how they are faring in various aspects of their lives. It also looks at how they have changed and developed in some key areas since they and their families were first recruited into Growing Up in Ireland at nine months of age.

Growing Up in Ireland is a Government study. The Department of Children and Youth Affairs is funding it in association with the Department of Social Protection and the Central Statistics Office. The Department of Children and Youth Affairs is overseeing and managing the study, which is being carried out by a consortium of researchers led by the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) and Trinity College Dublin.
