Launch of Growing Up in Ireland Report - Lives of 13 Year Olds

Growing Up in Ireland hosted the launch of a new report from their Child Cohort on the lives of 13-year-olds. Katherine Zappone, TD, Minister for Children and Youth Affairs spoke at the launch. This report looks at key aspects of young people’s lives at 13 years of age. It discusses how young people fare emotionally as they enter adolescence and which groups are more likely to have depressive feelings. The report analyses how young people have settled into second-level education and their engagement with school. The analysis also looks at the extent of change and stability in young people’s lives since they were last interviewed at 9 years old and the impact of the recession on their families and themselves.

The report is now available here. Slides from the event are available below.
