Launch of the new Ireland Environment, Energy and Economy (I3E) model
ESRI researchers presented an overview of the Ireland Economy, Energy and Environment (I3E) modelling framework and discussed its first results, illustrating the advantage of this tool in advising future policymaking. The I3E model has been developed to advise climate policy making and project future greenhouse gas emissions. I3E is a Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) model describing the relation between energy inputs and environmental impacts (focusing on various emissions), production sectors, households and the government.
