Special Seminar "Does the Changing Nature of Innovation Require a Change in European Competition Policy?"
Venue: ESRI, Whitaker Square, Sir John Rogerson's Quay, Dublin 2
Speaker: Professor Paul Seabright, University of Toulouse.
This seminar raises the issue of the policy consequences of innovation for the operation of competition policy in the EU. It presents evidence that innovation is involving increasing amounts of collaboration between firms, including between firms that are otherwise competitors, and suggest ways in which the current implementation of EU competition policy fails to do justice to this development, but could be modified to do so.
