Webinar: Children of migrants: how are they faring?
Updated time and date
Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Roderic O’Gorman TD will launch a new study at this webinar on the lives of the children of migrants by Frances McGinnity, Merike Darmody and Helen Russell.
The authors will present findings on whether the ‘second generation’ - children born in Ireland to migrant parents - differ from children with Irish-born parents in terms of their English language development at three, five and nine years of age, and their self-concept at nine years.
Jane Ann Duffy of the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth will provide a policy response to the study findings.
Diana Hrisovescu, a student in Trinity College Dublin, will share her experiences as a young person of migrant origin in Ireland.
