Work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders and Stress, Anxiety and Depression in Ireland

Work-related illness has costs for workers, employers and the wider society- not just the burden of illness itself, but also lost income and productivity and the costs of social protection and health care- so strategies to prevent and reduce such illnesses are important.

On 20th October, the ESRI will hold a seminar to launch a new report titled “Work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders and Stress, Anxiety and Depression in Ireland: Evidence from the QNHS 2002-2013”. The report examines the trends and determinants for work-related musculoskeletal disorders and stress, anxiety and depression, identifying the workers most at risk of these work-related illnesses in Ireland.

Ms Marcella Corcoran Kennedy TD, Minister of State for Health Promotion, and Mr Martin O’Halloran, CEO of the Health and Safety Authority will speak at the launch event.
