Strong growth is likely to persist in the Irish economy through 2018 and 2019, as indicated by the underlying trends in taxation receipts and overall consumer and producer sentiment. The ESRI’s latest Quarterly Economic Commentary states that GDP is expected to grow by 4.7 per cent in 2018, followed by 3.9 per cent growth in 2019. Unemployment is expected to decline to 5.6 per cent in 2018 and 5.0 per cent in 2019.
