Seraphim Dempsey

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Seraphim Dempsey joined the ESRI as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Economic Analysis division in November 2023. She is a member of the Electronic Communications Research Programme and contributes to applied research examining the effects of telecommunication infrastructure in Ireland. 

Seraphim defended her PhD in Economics at the University of Luxembourg in October 2023. Her main research interests relate to labour and health economics and how these are shaped by exposure to adverse labour market conditions at critical points of the life-course. Seraphim’s previous work experience includes a year at Revenue (2018-2019) as part of the Irish Government Economic and Evaluation Service (IGEES), and two years as a Research Assistant (2016-2018) at the ESRI.
