Social trust and the support for universal basic income

The paper studies how political and generalised mistrust affect the support for UBI when its implementation involves a reduction in spending for other public services. The paper shows that higher political mistrust reduces support for UBI, while generalised mistrust has no effect on preferences for UBI.
