Book launch: Post-school Pathways of Migrant-Origin Youth in Europe
What pathways do migrant-origin young people pursue after leaving compulsory education in Europe? What factors shape their experiences?
These and related questions are addressed in the chapters of a new book ‘Post-school Pathways of Migrant-Origin Youth in Europe’. The volume is edited by Dr. Merike Darmody and Prof. Emer Smyth and includes chapters by leading international scholars from Spain, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, France and Italy.
To mark the publication, the launch includes presentations by Prof. Irena Kogan (University of Mannheim): “Defying Discrimination? Germany’s Ethnic Minorities within Education and Training Systems”, and Dr. Frances McGinnity (ESRI): “Post-school expectations and outcomes among migrant origin young people in Ireland”.
