The Response of Low-Income Households to the Cost-of-Living Crisis in Ireland

This webinar will launch a new report titled The Response of Low-Income Households to the Cost-of-Living Crisis in Ireland by Diarmaid Ó Ceallaigh, Lucie Martin, Shane Timmons, Deirdre Robertson and Pete Lunn. There will be a presentation on the main findings of the report, followed by Q&A and a panel discussion.

Using a survey carried out with a nationally representative sample of 1,615 low-income households, the study examines the changes low-income households made in their day-to-day spending, borrowing and saving due to the cost-of-living crisis. The study also examines their use of government benefits and support services during the cost-of-living crisis, with a focus on administrative burdens (i.e. the time, effort, and frustration involved and their potential role as barriers to using supports). This research was supported by JPMorganChase.
