Clement Kweku Kyei
Clement Kweku Kyei is an applied economist, with a focus on the economic and distributional impacts of water, energy, and food policies. Prior to joining the ESRI in 2023, Clement was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Pretoria, with the School of Public Management and Administration (SPMA) and the Food Systems Research Network for Africa (FSNet-Africa). He obtained his Ph.D. in agricultural economics with a specialization in environmental economics from the same University.
At the ESRI, he is a member of the economic analysis division's climate and energy modelling team. His current research is on climate change impacts and adaptation options for Ireland, particularly estimating their economic costs and benefits, as well as understanding their spillover effects using the I3E model. He also has an interest in financial econometrics and has published extensively on the role of uncertainty and nonlinear dynamics in financial markets.
