Tong Zhu

Tong joined the energy team at the ESRI as a postdoctoral research fellow in August 2018. Her research interests lie within the fields of Energy and Environmental Economics, Industrial Organisation and Economic Geography.

Before joining the ESRI, Tong was a research associate at the European University Institute, where she worked on the topics of emissions trading systems and GHG mitigation in agriculture. Tong holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Birmingham.

The topics of her thesis include the relationship between urbanization and energy efficiency, firm behaviour under environmental constraints, and gasoline price cycles.
