Desmond O'Mahony
Des joined the ESRI as a Research Analyst working on the Growing up in Ireland Study. He has previously worked as a research assistant at the Educational Research Centre, the DCU School of nursing, and as a research officer at the National Suicide Research Foundation. He holds a B.Sc. in Applied Psychology from UCC, an M.Sc. in Applied Psychology from TCD, a Higher Diploma in Statistics from TCD and completed his PhD in Psychology at TCD. His PhD research deals with attitudes to testing, attitudes to technology and how this relates to overall computer usage and test performance in traditional pen and paper and computerised test modes.
His research interests include multilevel modelling, longitudinal modelling, and structural equation modelling.
