Assessing the impact of school closures during COVID-19 on second-level teaching and learning in Ireland
Researchers at the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) are conducting a study to understand how second-level schools in Ireland are adapting teaching and learning during the period of school closures prompted by the coronavirus. A survey has been issued to school leaders of post-primary schools to capture their views on a range of issues relating to student engagement, teacher workload and whether a digital divide has impacted on education during COVID-19. The aim of the project is to understand the challenges facing second-level students, teachers and schools in order to support them during these unprecedented times and into the future.
It is hoped that results will be published in June and will provide valuable insights for educators, school leaders, policymakers and parents. Contact gretta.mohan@esri.ie with queries.
