Genaro Longoria
Genaro joined the ESRI in April 2020 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Economic Analysis division.
He holds a PhD in wind energy integration in open markets at Waterford Institute of Technology as member of the CONNECT research group. The title of his thesis is "Open-market Energy Procurement Strategies to Integrate Wind Energy". He holds a MSc in computational physics at Umea University, the title of his thesis is "Vortex Matter in an Inhomogeneous Material". His undergrad studies are in Physics, within this time period he worked as a research assistant in material science in the TEM laboratory in the Centre Interdisciplinaire de Microscopie Electronique at EPFL, Switzerland. During his PhD he lectured in WIT within the school of Science and Computing and in Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, China.
Among his research interest are optimization under uncertainty, energy markets and future power networks.
