Michael Vallely

Michael joined the ESRI in August 2023 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Social Research Division. Prior to joining the ESRI, Michael completed his PhD in Economics at the University of Glasgow, passing his viva with no corrections. During his PhD he carried out research visits at Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona and the University of Sydney. He was awarded the Hughes Hallett Scholarship for the academic year 2022-23. Michael holds a Masters of Research in Sociology & Research Methods from the University of Glasgow and a BA (Hons) in Accountancy. He previously worked as an Associate Tutor and Research Assistant at the University of Glasgow, Researcher at the University of Strathclyde, Occasional Lecturer at Glasgow Caledonian University and Research Officer at the Scottish Government.
