Andrés Estévez
Andrés Estévez is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the ESRI and a Visiting Research Fellow at Trinity College Dublin. In 2023, he joined the Energy and Environment Research Team.
He is an applied microeconomist with a primary focus on the empirical analysis of regulation, competition, and the performance of energy markets. Andrés's research is dedicated to understanding how physical and institutional environments influence the behaviour of firms and individuals. His research interests also encompass spatial economics, industrial organization, development economics, and migration economics.
Andrés earned his PhD in Economics from Aarhus University. He also holds a MPhil in Economics and Public Policy from Paris School of Economics (PSE) and a MSc in Economics from Université Paris 1 Pantéon-Sorbonne.
Andrés has worked for the Mexican Ministry of Finance. As a consultant, he has experience with other government bodies, and organizations such as The World Bank Group, USAID, IOM, and several NGOs.
